Best Kids Sunglasses to Protect Them From Harmful UV Rays
Here are the main features that make Kiddus sunglasses for children and babies the best brand on the market: beautiful designs, fashionable but always with the eyes protected. In addition, in this article you will also find the best sunglasses. We tell you about it!
Security
All Kiddus sunglasses comply with EN ISO 12312-1: 2015. This is the strict international standard that regulates the quality standards for sunglasses and related eye protection articles. In addition, they have also passed the tests of the EN 71-2 standard which refers to the fire behaviour and flammability of the materials used. In other words, our glasses are not flammable.
As for the components, the sunglasses have been tested according to the 1907/2066 REACH standard, which guarantees a high level of safety in terms of chemical components, both for human health and the environment. Our glasses are free of phthalates and BPA (Bisphenol A) and PAHs, all of them toxic components very common in the past in the manufacture of plastics and derivatives.
In addition, the lenses have passed the so-called Drop Ball Test, which certifies their safety. This test ensures that the lenses do not break and if they do, they are only shaken and do not produce splinters or small splinters that could harm the child. In this case, the certification is granted by the Sunglass Association Of America (standard LT1), which in turn complies with the requirements of the CFR 801.410 of the US FDA.
Quality
Kiddus use high quality components for all our sunglasses. Polycarbonate is a material that is characterised by its strength and light weight. In the case of the lenses, this material is practically unbreakable. Polycarbonate lenses are ten times more resistant than normal plastic or glass lenses. In the unlikely event of breakage, these lenses do not produce splinters, cracks may appear, but parts of the lens will never separate and injure the wearer.
Polycarbonate is durable and, very importantly, has natural UV protection.
We also use Tri Cellulose Acetate (TAC) lenses. These have the same characteristics as Polycarbonate and are also multi-layered. They have anti-scratch and anti-breakage protection, 100% UV blocking and a polarised coating.
As for the frames, we use Thermoplastic Elastomers. These are polymeric materials that combine the qualities of rubber and plastic. Flexibility and resistance respectively. In other words, it is a robust and resistant material that is at the same time elastic and light. Therefore, it is ideal for spectacle frames because it allows the usual abuse that children give to objects.
Another advantage is that it is a recyclable material. In terms of recycling, at Kiddus we are working to change our packaging by eliminating plastic and progressively replacing it with environmentally friendly materials.
